Critic #1: Maddie

Emulation feedback: She noticed the photograph of panda first. And she likes the left one better because of the big letter. And she suggested the picture can be more relate to the text. The photograph is not as commanding as the visual language. She noticed the color matches the color model, but the color model use the white color to make photo more stands out, and be balanced with the green color. She suggested that I can use more white color to help with the photo not to blend in.

I added more white color to my appearance, such as the bamboo and the white dashed line. I delete the text because I think this is not needed for this part, and I think the title and the photograph is really matched now.

Critic #2: Stephanie

Emulation feedback: She noticed that I have all caps for the title, and suggested me to change to a cuter fonts would be better, but the paragraph fonts would stay as simple as before. She thought mine matches well on all my models, and to kind of match my layout model, the panda photograph size can be smaller.

I changed the font for the title to a cuter one, and it is thicker than before. I also changed the panda to a smaller size and move it to the upper left to make it look more united in the image.

Critic #3: Monica

Emulation feedback: She thought the right one is better because the font and not all caps is cuter to match my photograph. Compare to my model, she suggest to me about add more white color to make the infographic more match to my color model and makes the panda to stand out more.

I didn't change the all cap because the font I changed later doesn't support lowercase letters, and I think it looks fine for now. I added white color elements such as bamboo and the white dashed lines to make the panda more stand out.

Critic #1: Marika

Emulation feedback: She really liked the background color because it matches the theme of panda, and  the photograph is cute. She noticed that it matches the color model. She suggested that I can change the panda photograph to a sitting position one to make the photograph looked less cut off at the bottom.

I didn't change the photograph of panda because this picture really symbolized the topic of my infographic: peaceful and cute. Instead, I extended the dashed white line to make the photograph looks less cut off and sharp.

Critic #2: Arden

Emulation feedback: She noticed the three dimension of font of my title of panda, and the color of background made her think of bamboo. She really like the white color of bamboo and the white dashed lines. She think the the real photograph of panda and white bamboo icon matches the my visual language model. She suggested me to add like a subtitle under the hi panda to make show the reader more about this infographic. And she suggest if the color of the title changed to white would make the title stand out more and matched the bamboo.

I didn't change the color of the title because it will violate my color model. But I added a subtitle for the revision and I think it looked much better.

Appearance Elements & Critiques

Critic #3: Hilina

Emulation feedback: She noticed that I have many things lined up together, which looks really nice. And she really liked the color of my infographic. She suggested that if the panda is the main topic, then maybe to make the panda bigger would look better. And the bottom of the panda was cut off like to matched the line, so maybe change that will be better.

I tried to make the panda look bigger, but it looks unbalanced with the title, and since I want to have something around the panda to make it more stand out, I copied the bamboo around it. For the cut off part, I added the white dashed line to make it less sharp for the bottom of the panda.

revisions:

This image of a panda is intended to trigger the idea of peaceful and cuteness of this animal.

How this element exploits the visual potential of appearance:

The image of the cute panda with one hand up matches the title of my infographic of "Hi panda", and the icon of white bamboo increases the color variety and echoes the panda next to it.

How this element emulates the models:

To emulate my color model I, I used the green background color, and the darker green for the title. and also dark white for the bamboo. The color green is my color model's theme, and it is subtle with the theme of panda with bamboo.

To emulate my visual language model, I used the real photograph of a panda. Having a real image of the animal is direct and especially with animals that are fury and cute in the real life. I also had the solid icon of bamboo to match my visual model.

To emulate my typography model I used the Helvetica Neue and all caps for the title of this infographic.
